Visitors of Lousiville will have an abundance of activities to choose from when building their itineraries, and our prime location makes it easy to explore our charming city. If you’re here for a show at the Kentucky Expo Center, you’ll be a stone’s throw away from the event, and if you’re traveling in or out of Louisville International Airport, you’ll love being under five miles from your terminal. Louisville is full of family-friendly activities, including the amusement park, Kentucky Kingdom, the Lousiville Zoo, and the unique Lousiville Mega Cavern.

Head downtown for endless entertainment, including world-famous distilleries, sporting events, first-class shopping, and some seriously good restaurants! If you’re looking to spend some time outdoors, we’d recommend a visit to the sprawling Cherokee Park or a stroll along the riverfront with a stop at the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. Finally, no “must-see” list would be complete without mentioning Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum or the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. No trip to Louisville would be complete without a visit to the world-famous Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum! Explore two floors of exhibits where you can learn about the history of the Kentucky Derby, view elaborate Derby hats and attire, ride in a simulated horse race, and much more. Also included in admission is a 30-minute tour of Churchill Downs Racetrack as well as access to the Museum Stable, which houses their Resident Thoroughbred and companion pony. Constructed in 1927, Speed Art Museum is Kentucky’s oldest and largest museum of art. Visitors will be treated to an impressive collection of art that has been curated from around the globe and spans over 6,000 years. In addition to their permanent collection, guests can attend fun events such as concerts, film festivals, and exciting After Hours nights that could include anything from aerialists to drag shows. What started as a limestone quarry in the 1930s and spans approximately 100 acres underground is now known as Louisville Mega Cavern. One of the top tourist attractions in town, a visit here is the perfect all-weather activity, as the temperature inside the cavern is a comfortable 60 degrees year-round. Visitors can take part in a multitude of activities; thrill-seekers can go on the world’s only fully underground zip line course, or you might consider taking a tram tour or walking tour to learn more about the rich history of the cavern.
